01

The short answer

Quick answer

Dynalene's PG-D series (PG-D15, PG-D25, PG-D55) are pre-diluted USP propylene glycol coolants for direct-to-chip data center loops, and its PG-A1 and EG-A1 are OAT-based, aluminum-safe glycols sold as premixes named by percent by volume. Dynalene also sells EG and PG heat transfer fluids and low electrical conductivity LC-EG and LC-PG fluids. Our inhibited glycol premixes are named by percent by weight, so match on freeze point, not on the number in the name. Our inhibitor packages are different from Dynalene's and our propylene glycol contains nitrite, so this is an alternative, not the same fluid.

Questions

Which of your products matches Dynalene PG-D25?

Our Inhibited Propylene Glycol 30/70 with OAT Inhibitor, at about 9 °F against PG-D25's 14 °F. Our 25/75 premix freezes at about 15 °F, which is 1 °F warmer than PG-D25, so we point PG-D25 users to the 30/70 or a blend made to order.

Is your propylene glycol nitrite-free?

No. Our inhibited propylene glycol contains nitrite. We do not sell a nitrite-free propylene glycol; our only nitrite-free product is the Inhibited Ethylene Glycol 40/60, Nitrite-Free. Check your cold plate, CDU or server maker's fluid specification before using any of our fluids in a direct-to-chip or CDU loop.

Can I top up a Dynalene system with your fluid?

No. Do not mix inhibitor chemistries. Drain, flush with deionized water and refill.

Why don't the percentages line up?

Dynalene names PG-A1 and EG-A1 by percent by volume and prints the weight percent beside it. Our premixes are percent by weight. Each PG-D and PG-A1 match above freezes at least as cold as Dynalene's published figure; for EG-A1, pick our premix from the freeze point your system needs. Pick the strength from your coldest fluid temperature, not from the number in the name.

Do you sell a low-conductivity glycol like Dynalene LC?

No. Our inhibited glycols are not low-conductivity fluids. If your system calls for a low electrical conductivity coolant, ours is not a fit.

Can you add dye?

Yes. Our fluid ships undyed; green or purple leak-detection dye can be pre-mixed on request.
