Dilute to strength

Enter the strength you have, the strength you need and the batch size. The calculator gives the concentrate and the water to mix, from C1 × V1 = C2 × V2.

Enter both strengths and the batch size.

Add the concentrate to the water, never water to the concentrate, and wear the protective equipment the SDS lists. For acids sold by weight percent, the full calculator corrects for density.

Questions about documents and shipping

The short answers. The full FAQ covers ordering, payment and returns.

Where can I get the safety data sheet for a product?

Every product has a safety data sheet. Type the product name in the search at the top of this page and open the SDS, or browse the SDS library, which can be searched by product name, CAS number or formula. Each SDS follows the GHS 16-section format that OSHA HazCom 2012 requires.

What is the difference between an SDS, a TDS and a COA?

An SDS (safety data sheet) covers hazards, first aid, handling, storage and transport. A TDS (technical data sheet) covers specifications and physical properties. A COA (certificate of analysis) gives the test results for one lot. You usually need the SDS for compliance, the TDS for the technical fit and the COA when a lot has to be documented.

Is a certificate of analysis free?

Yes. A COA for the lot you received is free. Send the order number and the lot number from the container label through the COA request form, and we email it during business hours. The typical COA in the search above shows representative results, not your lot.

How do I dilute a concentrated chemical?

Use C1 × V1 = C2 × V2: the strength you have times the volume of concentrate equals the strength you need times the batch size. The calculator on this page does that math. For acids sold by weight percent, the full calculator corrects for density. Always add the concentrate to the water, never the reverse.

How fast do orders ship?

Most in-stock orders ship in 1 to 2 business days from Taylor, Texas. Orders placed before 2 pm Central Monday to Thursday, or noon Central on Friday, count from that business day. Parcels go UPS Ground; drums, totes and larger orders go LTL freight. The shipping guide explains which applies.

Do you ship outside the United States?

We ship to the 48 contiguous states and to Canada; Alaska and Hawaii by arrangement for hazmat. For other countries, send the products, quantities and destination through the international shipping form or email sales@alliancechemical.com.
