Hydrogen Peroxide 3% Technical Grade (H2O2, CAS 7722-84-1) is a stabilized aqueous oxidizer at a working concentration low enough to handle without hazmat freight, yet reactive enough to do real work in water treatment, bleaching, and general chemical processing. Why This Concentration
3% is the entry point of the hydrogen peroxide ladder, and buyers choose it for one main reason: it delivers controlled oxidation with the mildest handling profile we sell. Lower concentration means slower, more forgiving reactions, less aggressive contact hazard, and simpler logistics — this strength ships as standard ground freight rather than regulated hazmat.
The trade-off is throughput. If your process consumes peroxide quickly — larger bleach baths, higher-demand water treatment, chemical synthesis feeds — you will burn through 3% solution fast, and stepping up in strength usually costs less per unit of active oxidizer. The next rungs are Hydrogen Peroxide 6% Technical Grade and Hydrogen Peroxide 10% Technical Grade, with 12% and 15% Technical Grade above that for heavier-duty dilution stock. For lab and analytical work that needs a tighter specification, start with Hydrogen Peroxide 5% ACS Grade, or go to Hydrogen Peroxide 30% ACS Grade if you prefer to dilute down to your own working strengths.

Chemical Profile
This is a clear, colorless aqueous liquid with a slightly sharp odor. The molecule is hydrogen peroxide, formula H2O2, molecular weight 34.015, CAS 7722-84-1. At 3% w/w the solution has a density of 1.01 at 20 °C — essentially water-like, which matters when you are sizing pumps, day tanks, and dosing equipment. It is fully miscible in water (solubility of 100 mg/mL or greater at 72 °F) and has a low vapor pressure of 1 mmHg at 59.5 °F, so it is not a significant vapor source at room temperature. The solution is stabilized against decomposition, but like all peroxide solutions it slowly loses strength over time, faster with heat, light, and contamination.

Handling & Storage
The signal word for this product is Danger. It causes skin irritation (H315) and causes serious eye damage (H318) (per the product's GHS classification). Eyes are the real risk at this strength: wear splash goggles, not just safety glasses, plus chemical-resistant gloves whenever you transfer or dose it.
Store it cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight — the solution is light-sensitive and heat accelerates decomposition. Keep it in its original HDPE container or transfer only to HDPE or glass; never store peroxide in a sealed metal container or one contaminated with organics. Keep it away from organic materials, strong acids, and anything oxidizable, and never return unused product to the container — contamination is what kills peroxide shelf life.
