The short answer

Quick answer

ANTSPACE HK3 containers run an inhibited ethylene glycol antifreeze, chosen for the site's coldest weather, with pH 7 to 9 and tight caps on boron, silicon, phosphorus, molybdenum and calcium (each under 20 mg/kg). A nitrite-free inhibitor with no silicate, borate or molybdate and only a trace of phosphate fits that table, so for Texas and other freeze-exposed sites we supply our nitrite-free inhibited ethylene glycol premix, plus deionized water for flushing and make-up.

What to order

The products that fit this spec, and what each one is for.

Container fill

Inhibited Ethylene Glycol 40/60, Nitrite-Free

Nitrite-free inhibitor with no silicate, borate or molybdate and only trace phosphate, so it stays under the elements the HK3 table caps. 40% ethylene glycol premix, ready to pump in.

Freeze point: about -25 °C (-13 °F) typical · Quart to 330-gallon tote · COA with every lot

Flush and make-up

Deionized Water ACS Reagent Grade

Conductivity under 1 µS/cm. Use it to flush new piping before the fill and for evaporative top-off only; top up leaks with premix.

Questions

What coolant does an ANTSPACE HK3 use?

An inhibited ethylene glycol antifreeze mixed for the site's coldest weather. Bitmain's coolant table asks for pH 7 to 9, reserve alkalinity of at least 4 mL for an organic-acid inhibitor, boron, silicon, phosphorus, molybdenum and calcium each under 20 mg/kg, and aluminum, iron and copper ions each under 50 mg/L.

Why does the inhibitor chemistry matter for HK3?

The table caps boron, silicon, phosphorus and molybdenum, the elements left behind by borate, silicate, phosphate and molybdate inhibitors. A nitrite-free inhibitor without those salts stays under the caps.

How much coolant does an HK3 container take?

The V6 manual puts the fill at roughly 1.3 to 1.5 tonnes of coolant per container, about 1.2 to 1.4 totes of 275 gallons (a tote of 40% premix weighs about 1.1 tonnes). Take the exact figure from your container's fill schedule.

What concentration should a Texas site run?

Around 40% ethylene glycol covers a hard Texas freeze like February 2021 with margin. Very cold northern sites may need Bitmain's -45 °C low-temperature grade, which our premix does not reach.

How often should HK3 coolant be tested?

Check pH every 6 months and run a full coolant test at least once a year. The V6 manual says to drain and replace the coolant after 1 to 2 years.

Can I top up with tap water?

No. Tap water adds hardness and chloride and dilutes the inhibitor. Top up leaks with premix and use deionized water only for evaporative loss.
