The short answer

Quick answer

MicroBT builds Whatsminer hydro coolant from pure or distilled water, its own Peric composite corrosion inhibitor at 5 to 7 wt%, and ethylene or propylene glycol at the ratio your freeze point needs. MicroBT's warranty covers its own inhibitor only, so we supply the other two parts: deionized water well under MicroBT's 5 µS/cm make-up limit, and ethylene glycol, uninhibited, for mixing with Peric.

What to order

The products that fit this spec, and what each one is for.

Mixing and make-up water

Deionized Water ACS Reagent Grade

Conductivity under 1 µS/cm, chloride ≤ 0.4 mg/L and sulfate ≤ 1.0 mg/L, well inside MicroBT's limits. The water side of the Peric recipe, and the make-up water for evaporative loss.

Glycol for the Peric recipe

Ethylene Glycol ACS Grade

Uninhibited ethylene glycol, minimum 99.9% assay, so the only inhibitor in the loop is the Peric package MicroBT warrants.

Pre-diluted glycol

Ethylene Glycol 40/60

Uninhibited 40% ethylene glycol already cut with deionized water. Add the Peric inhibitor at MicroBT's dose for a ready coolant without handling concentrate.

Questions

What coolant does a Whatsminer M63 Hydro use?

MicroBT's guide calls for pure or distilled water, its Peric composite corrosion inhibitor at 5 to 7 wt%, and ethylene or propylene glycol at the concentration your freeze point needs. The finished coolant should start at pH 7.0 to 8.7 with sulfate under 10 mg/L, chloride under 20 mg/L and hardness under 20 mg/L.

Can I use another inhibitor or a premixed antifreeze?

MicroBT says not to mix its inhibitor with other brands, and coolants it has not tested are not covered by its warranty. If you stay on MicroBT's warranty, use Peric with clean deionized water and uninhibited glycol.

How do I mix 1,000 kg of Whatsminer coolant?

Per MicroBT: 50 to 70 kg of inhibitor, then deionized water and ethylene glycol to 1,000 kg, aiming for about pH 8.0. Pick the glycol share from the freeze table: about 40% glycol freezes near -24 °C.

What water should I use to top up?

Deionized water at 5 µS/cm or less, and only for evaporative loss. Top up leaks with mixed coolant so the glycol and inhibitor stay at strength.

Is propylene glycol allowed?

Yes. MicroBT allows ethylene or propylene glycol at 20 to 50%. Ethylene glycol moves more heat at the same strength; propylene glycol is lower in toxicity.

How often should Whatsminer coolant be tested?

pH, conductivity, reserve alkalinity and appearance every 2 months; copper, iron and aluminum ions, sulfate, chloride, hardness and bacteria every 6 months. MicroBT recommends replacing the coolant after one year.
