Why This Viscosity Grade
The SAE 75W-90 designation tells you two things at once. The "75W" is the winter (cold-flow) rating — this oil will pour and circulate at sub-zero startup temperatures without starving gears during the critical first seconds of operation. The "90" is the operating-temperature rating, meaning it holds viscosity high enough to keep a protective film between tooth surfaces under full load and heat.
That dual rating is why 75W-90 has become the default specification for most modern light- and medium-duty differentials. It replaces older single-grade 90-weight oils with better cold-start protection while matching their hot-film strength. For heavy equipment that sees wide temperature swings — think a loader that sits overnight at 10 °F and runs all day at full torque — this grade covers both ends without a seasonal oil change.
Full synthetic base stocks extend that window further than conventional mineral oils can. The molecular uniformity of synthetics resists shearing under load, so the oil stays in grade longer between drain intervals. Chemical Profile
This gear lubricant is a clear amber viscous liquid with a mild petroleum odor, characteristic of highly refined synthetic hydrocarbon base stocks (CAS 64742-54-7). Its density is approximately 0.86 g/cm³, making it lighter than water — and it is insoluble in water, so it will not emulsify under incidental moisture contact in a gearbox housing. Vapor pressure is negligible at ambient temperature, which means minimal evaporative loss during storage or in vented gear cases. The liquid form is ready to pour directly into fill ports with no mixing or dilution required.

This oil fills rear axles, front differentials, and synchronized manual gearboxes in passenger vehicles, pickups, and light trucks. It reduces friction between hypoid gear sets and synchronizer rings, protecting against scoring and pitting under torque.

Heavy equipment gearboxes. Loaders, excavators, and haul trucks with enclosed gear drives benefit from the synthetic base stock's resistance to thermal breakdown. Equipment operating in continuous-duty cycles — aggregate plants, earthmoving — puts sustained heat into gear oil that a synthetic handles better than conventional mineral oil.

Handling & Storage
This product does not meet the hazardous criteria set forth by the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200). There is no GHS signal word, and no hazard pictograms apply. That said, standard industrial hygiene practices apply to any petroleum product:

PPE: Wear chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile is fine) and safety glasses when pouring or transferring. Prolonged or repeated skin contact with any lubricant can cause irritation — wash exposed skin with soap and water.

Ventilation: Use in well-ventilated areas. While vapor pressure is negligible, misting during spray application or heated transfer can generate inhalable aerosol.

Storage: Keep containers sealed in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat sources. HDPE or steel containers are suitable. Avoid storing near strong oxidizers. Shelf stability is excellent when sealed — synthetic base stocks resist oxidation far longer than conventional mineral oils in storage.

Incompatibilities: Do not mix with other lubricants unless compatibility has been confirmed. Mixing synthetics with conventional gear oils or lubricants of different additive chemistries can reduce performance or cause additive dropout.
