Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9% ACS Reagent Grade is a clear, colorless, flammable liquid widely used as a solvent and cleaning agent in analytical laboratories and industrial settings. With a high assay of 99.0–100.0 wt% as determined by Gas Chromatography (GC) with Flame Ionization Detector (FID), this reagent-grade IPA meets stringent ACS Reagent Grade specifications suitable for precise analytical work, sample preparation, and instrumentation cleaning. Its low water content (typical 0.02%, max 0.05%) and minimal impurities help minimize baseline drift, carryover, and contamination in HPLC, GC, and spectroscopy workflows. The product is supplied with robust quality controls, including low aldehydes, low acidity, and trace metal limits, to support high-purity solvent applications in regulated environments.
ACS Grade IPA is employed across diverse sectors, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, research laboratories, and electronic materials processing. Its compatibility with water and a wide range of organic solvents, combined with a relatively low boiling point and fast evaporation, enables rapid sample dissolution, efficient cleaning, and controlled solvent exchange in automated systems. The product is supplied with clear documentation and adheres to recognized standards to support rigorous QA/QC programs and method validation in accordance with industry best practices.
Handle IPA with appropriate engineering controls and PPE. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat sources and open flames, in containers made of compatible materials such as HDPE or glass. Use eye protection and chemical-resistant gloves when handling, and ensure adequate ventilation to manage vapor release. Maintain the container tightly closed when not in use to prevent evaporation and contamination, and conduct regular inspections for container integrity in accordance with SDS guidelines.
For exposure or spill scenarios, follow established emergency procedures: eliminate ignition sources, provide fresh air, and use appropriate absorbents for containment. In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse with copious water and seek medical attention if irritation persists. If inhaled, move to fresh air and seek medical evaluation if symptoms occur. Do not ingest; if ingestion occurs, seek immediate medical assistance and do not induce vomiting. Transportation and handling should comply with UN 1219, Isopropanol guidelines, Class 3, Packing Group II, as described in the SDS.
✔ High Purity ACS Reagent Grade – Ensures consistent analytical performance with minimal impurities affecting chromatographic baselines and spectroscopic readings.
✔ Low Water and Impurity Levels – Reduces risk of moisture-related drift and contamination in LC/GC workflows and sensitive assays.
