Product Overview
Blendpro is a multi-component solvent blend built for paint thinning and viscosity adjustment across industrial coating operations. The formulation combines acetone, ethyl acetate, and toluene — three proven organic solvents — into a single technical grade product that handles the full scope of thinning, cleaning, and surface preparation work in coating shops, automotive refinishing bays, and print facilities.
As a blended solvent rather than a single-compound chemical, no single CAS number applies. The individual components are declared in the product's Safety Data Sheet, which ships with every order. Alliance Chemical offers Blendpro in pack sizes from 1 quart through 55 gallon drums, covering everything from bench-scale formulation trials to full production runs.
Why This Grade
Technical grade means this solvent is produced and QC'd for industrial process use — coating lines, equipment cleaning, adhesive thinning — where the working requirement is consistent solvent performance, not analytical traceability. If your operation thins paint, flushes spray guns, or reduces adhesive viscosity, technical grade is the standard procurement specification. It delivers the evaporation rate and solvency your process needs without the cost overhead of laboratory or analytical grades.
A key practical distinction: because Blendpro blends three solvents with different evaporation profiles, the mixture provides a wider working window than any single solvent alone. The acetone fraction flashes off quickly for initial tack, while the ethyl acetate and toluene fractions sustain flow and leveling through the cure. That staggered evaporation is why a blended thinner often outperforms straight acetone or straight toluene in spray applications.
Chemical Profile
Blendpro presents as a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic solvent odor carrying acetone, ester, and aromatic notes — operators familiar with lacquer thinners will recognize it immediately. Density runs approximately 0.83 g/mL, lighter than water, which matters for mixing ratios calculated by volume. The product is miscible with common organic solvents and partially water-miscible owing to its acetone and ethyl acetate fractions. That partial water miscibility is worth noting: Blendpro will pick up moisture from humid shop air over time if containers are left open, which can affect coating clarity. Keep containers sealed between pours.
Industrial Applications
Blendpro serves every stage of a coating operation where solvent contact is required — thinning, cleaning, and formulation adjustment.
-
Paint thinning and viscosity adjustment. The primary use. Blendpro reduces the viscosity of lacquers, enamels, and solvent-borne coatings to hit the spray window your equipment needs. Add incrementally and stir — overthinning weakens film build and gloss retention.
-
Equipment and tool cleaning. Flushes spray guns, brushes, rollers, mixing vessels, and coating lines between color changes or at end of shift. The multi-solvent blend dissolves dried and wet paint residues that single solvents sometimes leave behind.
-
Automotive refinishing. Used in body shops to thin automotive paints and clear coats for HVLP and conventional spray guns. The solvent blend's evaporation profile supports flow and leveling on vertical panels where runs are a constant risk.
-
Adhesive thinning. Reduces the viscosity of solvent-based construction adhesives for roller or spray application. Follow the adhesive manufacturer's solvent-compatibility guidance — not all adhesive systems tolerate aromatic solvents.
-
Ink dilution for screen printing. Adjusts ink viscosity for consistent screen transfer and print definition. Start with small additions; screen printing inks are more sensitive to overthinning than most coatings.
Handling & Storage
Blendpro carries a Danger signal word (per the product's GHS classification). The hazard statements that govern handling are:
- H225 — Highly flammable liquid and vapour (per the product's GHS classification)
- H304 — May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways (per the product's GHS classification)
- H319 — Causes serious eye irritation (per the product's GHS classification)
- H336 — May cause drowsiness or dizziness (per the product's GHS classification)
The H225 flammability rating is the one that drives your facility controls. This is a Class 3 flammable liquid — store it in a cool, well-ventilated area away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames. Ground and bond containers during transfer to prevent static discharge. Use HDPE or glass containers; avoid prolonged contact with incompatible plastics.
PPE at minimum: chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile recommended), splash-proof safety goggles, and adequate ventilation. In confined spaces or where vapor concentrations can build, use respiratory protection rated for organic vapors. The H336 drowsiness/dizziness statement is your warning — solvent vapor accumulation in poorly ventilated areas impairs judgment before you notice it. Keep containers sealed when not actively dispensing. Avoid contact with strong oxidizers and acids.
Hazmat & Shipping
Blendpro is a DOT-regulated hazardous material. Every shipment from our Taylor, TX warehouse is classified, packaged, marked, and documented per federal hazmat transportation requirements.
-
UN Number: UN1263 (per 49 CFR 172.101)
-
Hazard Class: 3 — Flammable Liquid (per 49 CFR 172.101)
-
Packing Group: II (per 49 CFR 172.101)
-
Proper Shipping Name: Paint related material (Acetone, ethyl acetate, toluene) (per 49 CFR 172.101)
Packing Group II indicates a medium-flashpoint flammable liquid, which determines packaging standards, vehicle placarding thresholds, and quantity limits per package. Our shipping team handles the classification, marking, labeling, and shipping paper preparation for every outbound order — this product ships under full DOT compliance from our facility.
Documentation
A Safety Data Sheet ships with every order and is available in English, Spanish, French, and Japanese — four languages covering the documentation requirements for most North American and international receiving operations. A Technical Data Sheet is also available for process engineers who need solvent performance data beyond what the SDS covers. Lot-specific Certificates of Analysis can be provided on request for buyers whose quality systems require incoming material verification against purchase specifications.
Why Buy from Alliance Chemical
Blendpro ships from our warehouse in pack sizes from 1 quart to 55 gallon drums — whether you need a single quart for a test panel or drum quantities for a production coating line, the order ships under proper DOT hazmat classification with complete shipping documentation. Alliance Chemical has operated as a hazardous materials distributor since 1998 and has served over 50,000 customers across industrial, automotive, and manufacturing operations.
