Controlled-environment growers use phosphoric acid to formulate nutrient solutions and to lower pH in recirculating hydroponic systems. Its contribution of plant-available phosphorus makes it a dual-purpose pH adjuster in these settings.
Foliar Phosphorus Supplementation
Dilute phosphoric acid solutions can be applied as foliar sprays during critical growth stages when root uptake alone may not meet crop phosphorus demand — particularly during flowering and fruit set.
