Product Overview

Common Applications

• De-icing & Snow Removal: Generates heat upon contact with snow/ice (exothermic) and lowers the freezing point of water significantly, making it superior to rock salt in extreme cold.
• Concrete Acceleration: Added to concrete mixes to reduce set time and increase early strength, particularly in low-temperature environments.
• Dust Control: Absorbs moisture from the air to keep road surfaces damp, binding aggregate and suppressing fugitive dust on construction sites and unpaved roads.

• Refrigeration: utilized in brine solutions for refrigeration plants due to its low freezing point depression capabilities.

Safety & Handling

Calcium Chloride is a strong irritant, particularly to the eyes. When mixed with water, it releases significant heat. Personnel should utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• PPE: Wear chemical splash goggles, protective gloves, and long sleeves to prevent skin contact.
• Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Containers must be kept tightly sealed; the product will liquefy if exposed to humid air (deliquescent).
• Handling: Avoid inhalation of dust. Wash thoroughly after handling.
