30% Propylene Glycol USP Grade
30% Propylene Glycol USP Grade is a pre-mixed, high-purity solution consisting of 30% Propylene Glycol (Propane-1,2-diol) and 70% deionized water. Manufactured to strict United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards, this solution offers a low toxicity profile and excellent solvent properties. It is widely used as a humectant, preservative aid, and solvent in industries requiring high chemical purity, such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and sensitive manufacturing processes.
Also known as MPG or Methyl Ethyl Glycol, this 30% concentration provides a balance of solvency and freeze protection without the need for on-site dilution. It is commonly employed in heat transfer applications (chillers) where incidental contact with potable water or food processing equipment is a concern, due to its favorable safety profile compared to ethylene glycol. The rigorous quality control ensures low impurity levels, consistent batch performance, and adherence to USP-NF monographs for the glycol component.
Store 30% Propylene Glycol USP Grade in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and incompatible materials. While Propylene Glycol has a low toxicity profile, standard industrial safety practices should be observed. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves, during handling to prevent skin and eye irritation. Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area.
Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for comprehensive handling instructions, spill procedures, and first aid measures. Dispose of contents and containers in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
