Methyl n-Amyl Ketone (MNAK) ACS Grade
Methyl n-Amyl Ketone (MNAK) ACS Grade is a colorless, high-purity liquid ketone selected for its superior solvency and predictable evaporation rate in organic systems. As an ACS Grade solvent, it meets strict purity standards, making it suitable for analytical reagents, pharmaceutical processing, and high-performance industrial coatings. MNAK (also known as 2-Heptanone) is valued for its ability to lower solution viscosity in high-solids coatings, allowing for better flow and leveling without compromising film thickness.
In industrial applications, MNAK serves as a critical intermediate in organic synthesis and a process solvent for adhesive formulations. Its moderate volatility makes it an excellent choice for retarding the drying time of coatings to prevent defects such as blushing or orange peel. The product supports rigorous quality control benchmarks required in laboratory and manufacturing environments.
Methyl n-Amyl Ketone is a flammable liquid and vapor. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat, sparks, and open flames. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use. Use only with adequate ventilation to minimize inhalation exposure.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing when handling this product. In the event of skin or eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for comprehensive handling instructions and emergency response procedures.
