Ethylene Glycol 30/70
Ethylene Glycol 30/70 is a technically formulated blend of ethylene glycol (C₂H₆O₂) and water designed to deliver reliable thermal performance across industrial cooling and heating systems. This 30/70 composition prioritizes heat transfer efficiency while maintaining fluid stability under typical operating conditions, making it well-suited for use as a heat transfer fluid in HVAC and process cooling applications. The solution presents as a clear, colorless liquid with a slight sweet odor, and it remains miscible with water to support flexible dilution and management within closed-loop systems. Its properties are characterized by precise assay ranges and low impurity levels, ensuring consistent performance in demanding environments in accordance with Technical Grade specifications. The product is tested by standardized methods such as titration with NaOH for assay, APHA/Hazen color assessment, and ICP-MS/IC-based analysis for trace metals, enabling traceability to established industry practices.
In addition to conventional cooling and antifreeze roles, Ethylene Glycol 30/70 serves as a solvent in chemical processing and as a dehydrating agent in manufacturing workflows. Its relatively low vapor pressure and controlled acidity help minimize corrosion risk when used with compatible metals in piping and heat exchanger materials, while its viscosity at 25°C supports dependable pump performance in circulation loops. The formulation is maintained under controlled conditions to preserve stability and minimize degradation, aligning with industry norms for industrial process fluids.
Handle and store Ethylene Glycol 30/70 in a cool, dry area protected from direct sunlight. Use materials compatible with ethylene glycol, such as HDPE or stainless steel, and ensure proper ventilation during handling to minimize inhalation exposure. PPE should include chemical-resistant gloves, goggles or face shield, and protective clothing to prevent skin and eye contact. Follow established procedures for loading, transfer, and containment to prevent spills and to maintain system integrity in cooling loops.
When handling, be aware of potential acute and chronic hazards. SDS indicates a WARNING signal word with Acute Tox. 4 and STOT RE 2 classifications; exposures should be avoided or minimized, and ingestion or significant exposure requires immediate medical consultation. In the event of a spill, contain and recover material, absorb with inert material, and dispose of according to local regulations. In emergencies, ventilate the area and follow established evacuation and first-aid procedures as described in the SDS, including eye/skin rinse and medical assessment for exposure signs.
✔ Reliable Thermal Performance – Consistent heat transfer properties and designed viscosity support efficient pumping and system stability across operating temperatures.
✔ Quality-Controlled Impurity Profile – Low metal content and controlled acidity reduce corrosion risk and catalytic effects in metal systems and chemical reactions.
